Authentic Burgundy limestone flooring, reclaimed from original medieval French stone dalles and recut to an approximate thickness of 3 cm. These exceptional natural limestone tiles retain the character, colour variations and history of genuine old Burgundy stone while making installation suitable for contemporary interiors.

Every tile is different. The floor consists of random-size tiles with naturally irregular sides and no straight-cut edges, allowing them to be laid in a free-form Opus Romain-inspired composition. Rather than creating a repetitive geometric pattern, the varying dimensions and organic edges form a continuously changing surface with an architectural character that feels both ancient and remarkably contemporary.

The original Burgundy dalles were approximately 10–15 cm thick. A usable layer is carefully cut from this historic stone, preserving the individuality of the material while reducing the thickness to approximately 3 cm. This makes the floor considerably easier to integrate into modern construction and particularly suitable for use with underfloor heating.

The palette is characteristic of natural Burgundy limestone: predominantly warm beige and soft neutral stone tones, enriched by occasional touches of pale grey, muted rose, cream and other naturally occurring mineral colours. These subtle differences should not be regarded as imperfections; they are precisely what gives an authentic old stone floor its visual depth.

The smooth surface finish softens the rustic character of the irregular stones. It allows the flooring to work equally well in a centuries-old property or within a refined minimalist architectural interior. In a contemporary setting, the irregular layout contrasts beautifully with clean plaster walls, timber, glass, linen, bronze and restrained modern furniture.

Depending on the desired atmosphere, the finished floor can be treated in different ways. A colour-enhancing sealer deepens the natural stone tones and increases their lustre, creating a warmer and richer appearance. Alternatively, a neutral sealer preserves a quieter grey-beige to grey-blue character, ideal for understated interiors inspired by slow living, natural materials and timeless Belgian or French design.

Because Burgundy limestone is a dense and resistant natural stone, it is particularly well suited to long-term residential use. Once correctly installed and sealed, it provides a durable and relatively low-maintenance floor whose appearance can continue to develop naturally over decades.

The completely random arrangement also offers considerable freedom to architects and interior designers. It can be used throughout an entire room, entrance hall, kitchen, living area or country house, or combined with more structured stone formats to define architectural zones.

This is not a uniform newly manufactured stone floor. Each piece originates from authentic reclaimed Burgundy limestone and carries its own tonal variation, irregular outline and traces of history. Once installed, these differences combine into a unique floor that cannot be exactly reproduced.

A natural material shaped by time and intended to last for generations.
