An antique fireplace deserves an interior finish with equal character. Our firebricks and terracotta slips are authentic reclaimed materials, selected for their colour, texture and natural patina.
The collection includes small grey Belgian bricks, IJssel bricks, red and grey slips cut from old roof tiles and French slips in mustard-coloured terracotta. You will also find grey-black Dutch bricks, antique terracotta bricks and curved bricks for rounded firebox walls. Antique fireplace tiles and cast-iron plates complete the interior.
Fired clay is non-combustible. However, reclaimed historical materials generally do not have technical test certificates or certification for use in a specific fireplace installation.
Are technical documents required? Have a certified refractory firebox constructed, for example Isokern Fireboxes, and use the antique bricks as a decorative inner lining.

A cast-iron fireback is traditionally placed against the rear wall of the firebox. It protects the masonry, absorbs heat and radiates it back into the room. The dark cast iron and historical relief also create a strong decorative accent.
