Cast Iron Fireback with Stag and Doe – 71 cm x 71 cm

This cast iron fireback features a richly modelled woodland scene with a majestic stag and a grazing doe, surrounded by trees, grasses and natural vegetation. The deep relief gives the composition strong sculptural depth and creates a lively interplay of light and shadow.

The design is classically arranged, with the stag as the central focal point and the surrounding vegetation forming a natural frame. The gently arched top and substantial border give the piece the appearance of traditional European firebacks, while the hunting and woodland theme lends itself particularly well to country, classical and rustic interiors.

The cast iron has a robust, slightly textured surface that enhances the depth of the relief. Natural dark grey to brownish tones reinforce the strong decorative presence of the piece.

Measuring 71 cm x 71 cm (27.95 Inch x 27.95 Inch) and 3 cm thick (1.18 Inch), this is a substantial fireback that works beautifully against the rear wall of an open fireplace. It can be used as a decorative and architectural element in both traditional and more contemporary fireplace settings.

The stag and doe motif makes this fireback especially appealing for interiors inspired by nature, country living or hunting traditions, while its bold graphic relief can also create a striking contrast with a restrained stone or marble fireplace surround.

A characterful cast iron fireback with strong decorative presence and a timeless woodland motif.
