Martin Bugter – A Lifetime Devoted to Antique Fireplace Mantels
Martin Bugter was a passionate connoisseur and dealer of antique fireplace surrounds, historic mantelpieces and reclaimed building materials. His many years of experience, his expertise and his enthusiasm for authentic architecture formed the foundation of a remarkable collection.
Martin Bugter and the Van den Bogaert family had known each other since the very beginning of his business. For many years, they shared a passion for antique fireplaces, natural stone and historic craftsmanship.
Following Martin Bugter’s passing in June 2025, the Van den Bogaert family took over his collection and continues his life’s work as he would have wished.
Today, through The Antique Fireplace Bank, his architectural legacy remains accessible to architects, interior designers, restorers and lovers of historic fireplaces.
A shared passion. A lasting legacy.
