A fine original French country antique fireplace surround in the bespoke Burgundy hard stone/marble Rose Liseron. However the surfaces looks rustic, hand-hammered and chiseled it has a silky feeling when touching it. It has been polished. The piece is from the Louis XIV period, early 18th century. The detail of the star on the front is special.
