This exceptional fireplace surround originates from France and dates to the mid-18th century. Carved from a luminous ochre marble, it embodies the graceful aesthetics of the period—characterised by softened lines, modest curvature, and a central floral medallion that anchors the design with classical sophistication.
The marble surface displays an exquisite natural polish and a nuanced aging referred to as artempo wear—an authentic patina developed over centuries, which gives the stone an inviting warmth and texture.
