Cast Iron Fireplace Inner Frame, 102 cm, with Diamond Pattern

This original antique cast iron fireplace inner frame brings finely patterned detail to a marble or stone mantel. Measuring 102 cm wide, it fills the space between the firebox and the surrounding mantel, reducing the visible fireplace opening. Its straight upper rail and upright sides create a balanced architectural outline around the rectangular aperture.

An intricate lattice of elongated diamonds extends across the upper panel and both sides. Small floral motifs soften the regular geometry, giving the cast surface a delicate, almost textile-like quality. Narrow moulded borders define the inner opening and outer edge, while plain plinths provide a calm base. Gently curved surfaces slope inward, adding depth to the composition.

The black finish catches charcoal and silvery highlights along the raised lines. As the viewing angle changes, the pattern becomes more or less pronounced. White marble emphasises this crisp contrast, while warm beige limestone creates a quieter, rustic combination.

Its restrained French character works comfortably with modern furniture, natural textures and contemporary art. The repeated ornament offers a distinctive accent for a timeless or eclectic interior. The reverse bears the cast inscription HATRY and numerical markings. Wear and surface marks are consistent with age and use. Old cast iron may be slightly twisted. The height can be adapted by agreement to suit the customer’s requirements.
